Join the Common People Dance Workshop and learn a high‑energy group routine led by acclaimed choreographer Neridah Waters.
Ever wanted to learn a big, fun, group dance routine and perform it on a stage in a costume? The Common People Dance Workshop invites audiences to learn an energetic routine and then take to the stage as part of the Dance Hall event at Horizon Festival. This experience welcomes people of all ages and all abilities.
You will be led by Neridah Waters, Creative Director and choreographer of Common People Dance Project. Born from a spontaneous flash-mob at a circus festival, Common People has grown into an international phenomenon, touring fringe, music and circus festivals worldwide. Led by founder Neridah Waters, people of all ages and abilities unite through playful choreography and infectious energy.

Horizon Dance Hall is a free, all‑day dance party celebrating the final day of Horizon Festival on Sunday 10 May. Hungerford Hall in Nambour will become a lively hub of global dance styles, featuring performances, demos, workshops and spontaneous moments led by artists from across the region and beyond. The program spans everything from bootscooting and Bollywood to hip-hop, samba, swing, queer line dancing and classic bush dancing. The Common People Dance Workshop Intensive Participants will perform as part of the program on the day and be part of this all-ages, all‑in celebration of movement, music and community.
