It is our great pleasure to bring you Horizon Festival 2023

As the custodians of Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) and Jinibara Country, our role within the festival is twofold: to strengthen the ecology of Kabi Kabi and Jinibara arts and cultural practices, and to position Horizon Festival as a place where you can experience beautiful First Nations work from both local and national First Nations artists, that is deeply connected to Country and community.

First Nations programming beats throughout the heart of the Horizon Festival program in 2023; including our four Traditional Owner Projects.

Please join us, as we move closer towards a future where Kabi Kabi and Jinibara arts and culture are strengthened, reinstated and centred.

Welcome to Horizon Festival, a highlight on the It’s Live in Queensland events calendar. We are proud to support events like Horizon Festival through Tourism and Events

Queensland’s Destination Events Program because they bring a welcomed boost to the local community and provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase and experience the Sunshine Coast as a tourism destination.

Be sure to immerse yourself in the local culture and get the opportunity to explore some of our worldclass tourism experiences in this beautiful region.

Congratulations to the event organisers and volunteers – we wish you all the best for a successful event.

Horizon Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the year for the Sunshine Coast.

Across 10 days and nights,
the multi-arts festival supports the growing and sustainable arts and cultural ecology of our region and is a key deliverable of the Sunshine Coast Arts Plan 2018-2038.

We are proud to present an accessible, inclusive and diverse program this year, with exhibits, performances and events from the coast to the hinterland. We invite you to explore our region, reconnect with friends and family, and support our local businesses, arts workers, and community through this festival.

I look forward to you joining us on the Sunshine Coast this August to experience Horizon Festival, and all our sustainable, healthy, smart and creative region has to offer.

Mayor Mark Jamieson, Sunshine Coast Council

As a festival, we are driven by a passion to celebrate the region, provide a platform to support local artists, and connect communities.

In our eighth Horizon Festival, we are proud to present a program that reflects the ‘here and now’ and are inspired by the stories, energy, and beauty of the Sunshine Coast.

Over 10 days and nights, you’ll experience some of our best local artists, presenting alongside an impressive array of national and internationally renowned acts. All supported by a valued team of organisers, volunteers and partners who make this event a reality.

Immerse yourself in the Sunshine Coast and all it has to offer.
