Let’s Organise Your Leisure: Workshops

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Let’s Organise your Leisure (LOYL) is a participatory art project for everyone — friends, family, first dates, tenth dates, seniors, students, and everyone in between.

Join artist Kathy Mackey on a guided walk along the water’s edge at Maroochydore River to discover natural and pre-planted man-made materials commonly associated with leisure activities, such as pool noodles and yoga mats.

You will then work with Kathy to construct large sculptural artworks in a series of site-specific workshops for the Float-Off Finale, where you will launch into the water of the Maroochydore River alongside your sculptural creation.

Simply put: you’ll meet new friends, build a DIY floatation artwork, and then float in the Maroochydore River all together — laughing, smiling, and wondering how on earth you’re back on a pool noodle.

FLOAT-OFF FINALE

Participants are invited to return on Sun 3 Sep at 10am for a final Floatilla finesse prior to the Float-off Finale.
