8 Jan: Children's Ceramics Workshop
Join Syndicate Creative for their final school holiday workshop and start 2020 with creativity! In this workshop children will learn the basics of glazing. Participants will glaze their own ceramic necklace which will then be fired and top glazed and ready for collection at a later date.

9 Jan: City Makers at The MET
This January wind down the day at Maroochydore’s best back yard – the MET – with live music, tasty local brews and produce while the kids pitch in to build a city from the ground up! Wildlings Forest School and Project Fort Awesome are getting the kids on the tools to build a city. From cubby houses to a music wall, this city will have it all!  A FREE event! Bring along the kids for one or multiple days throughout the 3 week program. Each day, the kids will have a different part of the job to complete and come January 24, we’re celebrating the opening!

10 Jan: 4 Day Portrait Painting Workshop
In this comprehensive 28hr oil painting workshop students will learn techniques and skills that Jess Le Clerc has gathered as an emerging Australian portrait painter and teacher. Students will complete a portrait painting from photograh over 4 days, receive daily demos and step by steps from Jess whilst being given guided individual tuition.

11 Jan: VanderAa House Concert
Join some of the Coast's best muso's, poets and sound healers for a conscious house show, healing through music, poetry, dance and art. BYO drinks, food, rugs and good vibes.

11 Jan: The Barleyshakes at The Imperial Hotel
Grab your friends for a special night in The Bunker with The Barleyshakes as they kick off their East Coast tour on the back of live shows at Woodford Folk Festival.  This evening of Irish celebration will see The Barleyshakes joined by world famous flute player Alan Doherty aka 'ALDOC' direct from Ireland.

12 Jan: Resin Board Workshop
Grab a friend and come along for and afternoon of fun and discovery as you create your very own resin platter and coaster set.

11 Jan: The Unknowns at Solbar
Energetic up and comers, The Unknowns are breathing new life into the modern rockabilly scene with their raw rock-n-roll sound mixed with a punk attitude.

12 Jan: Andrea Kirwin at Spicers Clovelly Estate
Come and have a drink, a cheese or charcuterie platter the lawn, or join family or friends for lunch and listen to Andrea's feel good, soul infused songs from the heart. 

12 Jan: Peregian Originals
Back for another year of incredible original music in Peregian Beach, The Peregian Originals will host four original acts on the beach stage at Peregian Beach Park on the second Sunday of every month. All ages, family friendly and 100% funded by the community. 

14 Jan: GOD Jammit - Open Mic Night
A night for the local creatives of the Sunshine Coast to share & collaborate with their talents, to network and come together as artists/musicians/writers etc. This wonderful night held at Foxy On Coolum is welcome to all, whether you would like to share or just listen, enjoy & meet some lovely new faces.

17 Jan: 40 Under 40 Exhibition Opening
This exhibition will showcase local, young, vibrant and talented art scene in the region who are 40 years old and under! Not only will there be some epic art on display, local band "SuperYacht" will be dishing out some sweet tunes. Paco's Tacos will keep bellies full with delicious Mexican food. Not to mention a fully stocked bar to kick the weekend into gear! There will also be live art demonstrations from Veronica Spittles doing live pyrography (wood burning). Ketakii Jewson-Brown with the spoken word. Dylan Sparks with spoken word and impromptu poetry on a typewriter for attendees & Laura Vecmane's ephemeral installation. This exhibition not only aims to showcase the young art scene in the region but also to shake things up by challenging the community's perceptions on what is considered contemporary art in our regional setting.

17-19 Jan: Ginger, Flower and Food Festival
Now in its 24th year, the festival promises to delight the senses with three spectacular days of food, flowers and entertainment celebrating the best of the Sunshine Coast region. The Festival will be packed with an exciting line-up of Sunshine Coast chefs, including local favourite, Matt Golinski and new additions, Lisa Maher from Makepeace Island and Dylan Campbell – resident mixologist from Sum Yung Guys. They will be highlighting all that is fresh to the Sunshine Coast and how these ingredients pair so well with ginger.

18 Jan: Saturday Arvo Songwriter Sessions
Head down to Solbar for their Saturday arvo showcase of some of their favourite up ‘n’ coming musos. Folk, indie, blues, you name it - they’ve scoured the airwaves, internet and touring schedules to unearth the best hidden gems, the ones-to-watch, and brought them to the Solbar Lounge for us all to enjoy & escape the heat with a few beverages and some tunes.

19 Jan: Make Useful Items with Native Plants
Feeling creative and thinking about using botanical foliage and fibre? Kabi Kabi artist Briana Hanson shows you how to make useful, everyday items with native plants in this special hands-on workshop. All items will be made using the ancient art form of Kabi Kbai string-making. You will learn how to process, cure and dry native plant materials and take home your very own useful and artistic piece.
