Guide to Nambour with Basket of Hammers
Basket of Hammers takes us on a guide to Nambour – the layers are peeled back, and you get a raw insight of where to eat and what to see and do in Nambour/Namba.

Horizon will be loud and alive in Nambour, activating The Old Ambulance Station with a plethora of events: Jo Lloyd Workshop & Long Table Forum, NO SOUVENIRS, Phantom Femme Fatale, Hold Me Closer Tony Danza, BOH!Sub_Culture, BERSERK and Gather Round.
Guide to Nambour with Basket of Hammers
Nambour hums. There’s something in the way the light hits old shopfronts, how the past lingers in the corners of forgotten buildings, the static in the air just before the rain.
I go by Basket of Hammers, an artist-led platform dedicated to the weird, the wonderful, and the wildly underappreciated. I work in the spaces people overlook – turning them into something else, something fleeting, something worth remembering. My days are spent conjuring immersive, multi-disciplinary experiences that breathe new life into forgotten corners, amplifying experimental artists and musicians who thrive on the fringes.
If you’re looking for the polished, tourist-friendly version of Nambour, this isn’t it. But if you lean in, if you take the time to peel back the layers, you’ll see it for what it is: a backdrop, a feeling, a half-formed story waiting to be told.
Here’s the list:
Muffin Whole
A community where conversations stretch and time moves differently. Great food, coffee, and just enough weirdness around the edges to feel like home, where faces feel familiar, even if you swear you’ve never met.

Morts Brewery
Where time slows to a dreamlike crawl. Dark corners, cold beers, and the occasional existential crisis – what’s not to love? The hum of quiet conversation, the feeling that if you stayed just a little longer, something might reveal itself.
Quota Park Skate Park
Concrete, movement, and a rhythm that belongs to the people passing through. The concrete echoes, the wheels click, and somewhere in the distance, a dog barks (at nothing). The floodlights flicker, the air feels charged, like something just happened, or is about to.
The Old Ambulance Station
The heartbeat of Nambour, art in flux, a space where things take shape and unravel in equal measure. The walls seem to hold onto past ideas, the energy of what’s been made here never quite leaving.
GLÓR Project Space
Small but potent, a pocket of the unexpected, where the strange and sublime collide, offering an ever-evolving mix of experimental work. A doorway to something unnameable, shifting slightly each time you enter.

Nature
I’m in the studio – crafting, scheming, building something from nothing. The wilderness I inhabit is made of sound, light, and shadow. Outside, the wind moves through the streets, the trees whisper. I take a deep breath, step back inside.
