A Constellation of Stories
Every voice a star. Every story a light. We all live beneath the same sky, yet our stories are shaped by different places, cultures, histories, and imaginations.
The Sunshine Coast Hinterland Writers Festival invites writers from diverse backgrounds to gather to form a living constellation – fiction, nonfiction, poetry, oral storytelling, and emerging forms – each voice adding meaning and connection. The three-day program includes author talks, panel discussions and writing workshops in the lush surrounds of Maleny.
Visit the indie book market and food vans, and meet your favourite authors, while the kids dive into a world of imagination, interactive storytelling and petting zoo.
Everyone from budding writers to avid readers are welcome.

The Sunshine Coast Hinterland Writers Festival runs over three days and features a scheduled program of author talks, panel discussions and writing workshops.
Attendees can visit the indie book market and a selection of food vans available on site. The festival also includes children’s activities, such as interactive storytelling sessions and access to a petting zoo.
Most festival events require a valid ticket for entry; however, no ticket is needed for Free Drop‑In events or the Book Markets.
A heads up — photography and filming may take place during Horizon events for promotional use. If you’d prefer not to be in any of the shots, please chat to one of our Horizon staff on the day.
