Join Saltwater Eco Tours for a deeply moving and culturally rich performance experience where culture, story and sea come together in a river cruise on Mooloolah River.
Set aboard Spray of the Coral Coast, a beautifully restored 118-year-old timber sailing vessel, this immersive journey blends ceremony, storytelling and movement, unfolding across river, sandbanks and shoreline.
Audiences are welcomed with a Smoking Ceremony, before witnessing powerful dance performances activated within the natural environment. See The First Creatives performing in the waters at low tidal point, and then offload mid-way at Penny Lane for a performance from the Undumbi Dancers. More than a cruise, this experience honours Country and celebrates the spirit of the Sunshine Coast.

SALTWATER – Connections of Land and Sea is a 2‑hour cultural river cruise on the Mooloolah River aboard Spray of the Coral Coast, a beautifully restored 118‑year‑old timber vessel. The experience includes a Smoking Ceremony, cultural talks with a Mooloolah River Elder, a performance by First Creatives at low tide, and a final cultural dance experience with the Undumbi Dancers at Penny Lane.
Your ticket includes a welcome champagne and two courses of canapés served on board.
Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for boarding and disembarking. Bring sun protection, water, and weather‑appropriate layers. Limited seating is available on deck, and guests should expect some movement as the vessel travels. This experience is suitable for most ages but may involve uneven surfaces when offloading.
A heads up — photography and filming may take place during Horizon events for promotional use. If you’d prefer not to be in any of the shots, please chat to one of our Horizon staff on the day.
Saltwater Eco Tours aim to make their experiences as accessible as possible; however, please note that the vessel’s deck contains obstacles and is not wheelchair friendly. There are three ladder‑style steps required to access the bathroom and saloon area.
We strive to ensure our programs and events are inclusive and accessible to everyone. If you have any accessibility requirements, including Auslan Interpreters, mobility assistance, hearing support, or other accommodations, please contact our team at [email protected].
