What happens when chords meet words, lyrics find their licks, and talent becomes shared currency? Experience experimentation and collective creativity in this original song writing workshop.
As part of Horizon Festival 2026, the Sunshine Coast Music Industry Collective brings together renowned songwriters and industry luminaries for a dynamic group writing session designed to spark new ideas and fresh collaborations.
Across two hours participants join forces in small creative teams guided by experienced mentors. Together they explore melody, lyricism, theming and rhythm, shaping new work that culminates in a live performance at the session’s end.
More than a workshop, The Song Shed celebrates community, craft and the joy of making music side by side.
This event takes place at The Metropolitan (The MET), an outdoor stage located in the central hub for events and activations within the Maroochydore City Centre.
A heads up — photography and filming may take place during Horizon events for promotional use. If you’d prefer not to be in any of the shots, please chat to one of our Horizon staff on the day.
We strive to ensure our programs and events are inclusive and accessible to everyone. If you have any accessibility requirements, including Auslan Interpreters, mobility assistance, hearing support, or other accommodations, please contact our team at [email protected].
