Wed 11 Nov: Intuitive Art Explorers
Art Explorers is a weekly art class for children, hosted by Chony a QCT registered Visual Arts Teacher. Intuitive, artistic self expression benefits the 'whole' child, supporting curiosity, creative & innovative thinking and communication. Especially when the child is encouraged and nurtured to free flow with their creativity. 

Thur 12 Nov: Liquid Lyrics 
Liquid Lyrics, Sunshine Coast's wordy, worldly and worthy spoken word event is back again for another special evening of words and music. This months theme is "Mental Health." In a world where mental health is on the rise due to social media, financial instability, lack of understudying and now the current lockdown measures keeping so many of apart, its more important than ever for us to come together and tell our stories through all forms of art.

Fri 13 Nov: Sticks & Stones Book Launch & Photography Exhibition
Come celebrate the release of Shelflife No.2 "Summer" Hard Cover Book with Sticks & Stones. ‘Shelflife’ No.2 is both a celebration of our impending freedom to travel in the wake of the pandemic and a reminder of how good we had it. May we never take travel privileges for granted again! This book marks a time in history when life as we knew it changed forever. 

Fri 13 Nov: Maleny Lane Night Market with Renegade Funk
The Renegade Funk Jam is coming back to Maleny Lane Night Market for night of Covid safe live music and food from around the world. Innovative eats, immersive experiences, live music, experiential artists and local culture. An ever-evolving festival of flavour and sound in a shipping container playground, this is your new weekend destination. A smorgasbord of food, amusements, stalls, live music, immersive performances, community activations and experiential spaces. Built from upcycled shipping containers and disused materials, it is home to 40 local makers with global street food eats, desserts and market stalls. It features experiential bars, vintage amusements, a street art gallery, RepairLab and four stages of live music and experiential performances.
 
Sat 14 Nov: Steph Tisdell and Friends – Black Out
One of the brightest stars to explode on the Australian comedy scene in recent years, Steph Tisdell is bringing the brightest up and coming Indigenous in Queensland to the coast for her award-winning show Black Out. With warmth and wit winning her rave reviews the world over, don’t miss Steph and friends at the deadliest show this festival!

Sat 14 Nov: Adult ‘Sip & Paint’ Class
Our Adult 'Sip and Paint' Classes are for beginners, right up to those more experienced. You bring along your own idea of what you'd like to paint (including a printout) and we help guide you through the steps to completing your painting in the 3.5 hour class! BYO canvas or we also have plenty of 40cm x 50cm canvases available to purchase for $12. All other materials and tuition are provided. BYO Drink of choice

Sat 14 Nov: Spring into Summer - Exhibition & Art Market
The artists at the Sunshine Coast Art Group have been working hard to put together a fabulous collection of their work for you to see and buy. If you are looking for quality original pieces at reasonable prices, this exhibition and art market is for you! There will be demonstrations by the artists throughout the day with painters, potters (both wheel and hand building), drawers and sewers doing what they love best. They may even inspire you to consider joining one of the groups to learn a new creative skill. There will be members on hand to talk to you all about it!
 
Sat 14 Nov: Jaguar Jonze 'DEADALIVE' tour at Solbar
Jaguar Jonze returns for her 'DEADALIVE' tour after what has been a hell of a year. In 2020, she performed on Eurovision: Australia Decides with her single 'Rabbit Hole,' sold out her first national headline tour and then headed to her first US tour, which didn’t quite go to plan and dramatically altered her year. Over in New York, Jonze and the band were stuck in lockdown but eventually found flights back home to Australia where she then tested positive to COVID-19. Spending 40 days in hospital, she released her debut EP 'Diamonds & Liquid Gold' in the back of an ambulance. After a gruelling year of recovery, Jonze is back with her first single 'DEADALIVE' which she recorded while under hospital care. Jaguar Jonze is nothing short of a manifold visionary and tickets to her comeback tour won't last long.

A new weekly street food market in the heart of the new Maroochydore City Centre, every Sunday 11am-8pm. Enjoy delicious food from 20 street food vendors, sip on craft beer and cocktails (from Your Mates Brewing Co.) and wine, watch 6 hours of live music, play lawn games and relax under the shade of umbrellas in a family-friendly atmosphere. Like a Sunday ‘picnic in the park’ … but you don’t have to bring anything!

Thur 19 Nov: Kim Churchill - The Bright Night Sessions
The Bright Night Sessions are all about reconnecting with all of the phenomenal, regional music communities that Kim has had the pleasure of joining over the years in Australia. Kim has partnered with Yamaha Australia and Undercover Creative to build a solar powered touring stage and production that can go, quite literally, anywhere. The Bright Night Sessions takes music into towns and communities that don’t require alive music venue.

Have you got an old shirt in the wardrobe you'd love to re-purpose into something amazing? Book into this unique workshop, where Sunshine Coast textile artist Lyn Moes will share the complete techniques for sizing, wrapping and steaming your old shirt into a skirt, a scarf or even a new shirt! Delivered as part of fabric, Slow Fashion Artful Living program.

Fri 20 Nov: Into the Light
A contemporary outdoor theatre performance that will delve into the world of connections and disconnections, light and darkness, where human reality is virtualised and virtual reality humanised. Mixing physical theatre, dance, philosophy, literature, music, digital media, the show will take you for a walk into a world of split, parallel identities, where body and place are abandoned for beings of light and words to be created.

From coming off a SOLD OUT show in Brisbane, and with much anticipation, The Fins are back for their final show of 2020 at Solbar with support from Flooded Gum! The last time these guys played at Solbar they sold out not just one but TWO shows!!

This spring, return to the magic of live music and indulge yourself in the exquisite sounds of two lovely ladies of the Sunshine Coast. Internationally renowned cellist Louise King will play alongside 5 x ARIA Award winning and 7 x platinum selling singer/songwriter Katie Noonan. These women will share stories of their music and friendship and bring some much needed sunshine and succour to your soul!

Fri 20 Nov: Currimundi Lake Twilight Markets
Set on the gorgeous Currimundi Lake, this market runs on the third Friday of each month, 4pm-8pm. The Currimundi Twilight Market is the ultimate locals hangout! With Your Mates pouring icy cold beer on tap, plus a few choice wines, its the perfect area to bring a picnic blanket and watch the sunset over the picturesque Currimundi Lake. This is a food lover's dream with up to 20 unique food stalls to choose from!

The Travelling Film Festival returns to Majestic Cinemas Nambour this November, presenting an impressive selection of films direct from international film festivals worldwide. Headlining the programme is The Perfect Candidate, directed by Saudi Arabia’s first female director Haifaa Al-Mansour (Wadjda SFF 2012), an entertaining and revealing look at the changing role of women in Saudi Arabia. Other stories from around the globe include: Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom, direct from Berlinale 2020, this beautifully shot story is set in the high-altitude peaks of the Himalayas; Adam, a remarkably tender story from Casablanca, features unforgettable characters, in an emotional and compelling story; Poland’s Oscar nominee for Best International Film Corpus Christi; and award winning French film, Only the Animals, by director Dominik Moll, a must-watch gripping, mystery thriller.

Fri 20 Nov - Sat 16 Jan: Craftivism. Dissident Objects and Subversive Forms
The exhibition presents the work of contemporary Australian artists who utilise craft-based materialities with a political intent. Broadening our understanding of craft-making traditions, the artists in this exhibition subvert and extend these forms into the realm of activism and social change, reflecting on the world in which we live. While some respond directly to artistic or political movements, others encourage social connection between community members or require participatory activation through collective processes.

Fri 20 Nov - Sat 16 Jan: Marian Tubbs: We Need Privacy Guys Here Too
Marian Tubbs works with poor and found materials to question ideas of value and raise economic, social and ecological issues. The artist’s assemblage-focused practice brings together images, objects and text in unexpected combinations to create new knowledge and ways of thinking. For we need privacy guys here too, Tubbs presents new and existing works in a range of media, constructed from the physical and digital detritus of contemporary life. The exhibition’s title is a conversation fragment and reflects Tubbs’ interest in language, gender and the internet. The artist has a strong personal connection with the Sunshine Coast and the exhibition includes a new site-specific installation that incorporates locally scavenged/sourced materials.

Sat 21 Nov: Wine & Ceramics Workshop
In this workshop for beginners you will learn to create a novelty dish from clay which you will then come back to custom glaze in the second session. Relax and forget about your worries with our wine and ceramics workshop over 2 sessions: Saturday November 7th & Saturday 21st 6-7:30pm. Price of $70 per person includes all materials, firings and glazes to complete your pieces & of course wine!
