Here's our pick of what's happening around the Sunshine Coast this fortnight.

Now - Fri 19 Feb: 40 Under 40 Exhibition (Cooroy)
After last year's wildly successful exhibition of the same name, local artists and curators Amanda Bennetts & Prudence Swann have again brought together 40 local artists under 40 from the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie Regions to create this exciting showcase of our local young professional and emerging artists.

Now - Thu 21 Jan: Creative Spaces Collaborators in Residence Light Box Exhibition @Subtropic Studio and 77 Bulcock St (Caloundra)
Curated by Itamar Freed and Courtney Scheu, this exhibition presents exciting work by Sunshine Coast artists who were living and creating together during the COVID-19 lockdown. Featured collaborators are James  + Mathilda Muller, Courtney Scheu + Itamar Freed, Prue Swann + Jakob Lydford and Mieke van den Burg  + daughters Emma and Sofia Salna.

Thu 22 Jan: Plant Paper Printing (Tanawha)
Jillian Finch and Coralee Asker will teach participants how to apply this magical way of printing with collected local botanical leaves, flowers and vegetables onto paper, as well as silk, wool and cotton samples.

Fri 22 Jan: Bearfoot and Band of Frequencies - RiseSummer Concert Series (Birtinya)
Rise Summer Concert Series is an explosive Summer concert series presented by NightQuarter, featuring the best live acts from the region on the ‘NightQuarter Live’ stage. Head along on Fri 22 Jan to see two of our favourite local bands -  Bearfoot and Band of Frequencies - who'll be sure to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

Fri 22 Jan: Nick Cunningham @ Solbar (Maroochydore)
Nick Cunningham announces his first major tour since March with the release of his latest single “Love Me’. A heartfelt song describing the push and pull of relationships, this is yet another great example of how Nick gives an honest interpretation of his life events through music. 

Fri 22 Jan: Summer Series Foodie Market feat. The Moonsets (Eumundi)
Eumundi Markets are hosting this excellent evening combining our two favourite things - live music and food! Kick back and enjoy The Moonsets and the best market food on offer.

Sat 23 Jan: Flume vs Rüfüs Du Sol Night (Caloundra)
After huge sell out events across Australia the Versus Djs are finally landing in Caloundra for a huge party to celebrate two of Australia's very best. Please note this is a tribute night to Flume & Rüfüs Du Sol. Kings Beach Tavern will be celebrating their music on the dance floor but neither artists will be appearing at the event.

Beach views, great food and live music every Sunday from 4pm. 

Sun 24 Jan:  Sunshine Coast Jazz & Brews Fest (Forest Glen)
The Jazz Sessions along with the Glass House Brewery are hosting the Sunshine Coast's first jazz and beer festival! The Sunshine Coast Jazz & Brews Fest will be six hours of amazing jazz, craft beers, fine wines, gourmet food, music and fun. Sit under the marquee or under the stars, sip a smooth brew as you enjoy swinging classics, gypsy jazz, New Orleans horns, smooth grooves, soulful singers and incredible world jazz. Possibly the first festival for 2021, let's celebrate the return of live music!

Sat 30 Jan: John Floreani @ Solbar (Maroochydore)
John Floreani is inspired by romantic tragedy and beauty in life’s most simple phenomena. A lyrical deep dive into heartache, addiction and self-loathing, Floreani released his debut album sin this year to a heartwarming global response along with sold out headline shows in Australia, USA and the UK.
