May–June: Connecting Stories (all over the Sunshine Coast)
Immerse yourself in First Nations art and culture through art exhibitions, public art trails, cultural tours, creative workshops and events across South East Queensland North region during May and June. Check out the full run-down here.

Tues 11 May: Movie Night at University of the Sunshine Coast (Sippy Downs)
Head down for the last movie night of the semester — you can vote on the movie you want in the poll. They'll be $4 beers and wines, $1 soft drinks, and free snacks!

Wed 12 May: Curator Tour: Country In Mind — Connecting Stories (Sippy Downs)
Join Christopher Bassi, artist and curator of Country In Mind for a guided tour of the exhibition at USC Art Gallery.

Known for their fun high energy live shows, Christian Patey will be playing electro, alternative/pop music with his 4-piece band.

The Renegade Funk Jam is coming back to Maleny Lane Night Market for night of live music and food from around the world.

Legendary songwriter and founding member of INXS Andrew Farriss will be performing an intimate show at NightQuarter to celebrate the release of his first solo album.

Sat 15 May: Sunshine Coast Dessert Festival (Palmview)
The annual Sunshine Coast Dessert Festival is back and sweeter than ever at Aussie World.

Sat 15 May: Intro to Watercolour with Libby Derham (Cooroy)
Explore the beautiful medium of watercolour and create luscious washes and magical mixes. Understand about the different papers, types of paints, mark making and so much more in this whole day workshop with local artist Libby Derham. Aimed more at the beginner level, this workshop will provide you with the skills to get you started.

Sat 15 May: Sloan Peterson at Solbar (Maroochydore)
A romantic, a dreamer, a poet, & woman of immense ambition and resilience. Sloan Peterson is a Sydney-based artist blurring raw introspection with the stylistic and performative elements of '60s French rock of the yé-yé era and fresh electronic pop of today.

Thur 20 May: Dear Doonan // Noosa Festival Of Surfing (Noosa)
In conjunction with Noosa Festival of Surfing, local grown talent Dear Doonan are taking over The Reef Hotel with support from The Greatest Hits — doors open at 8pm.

Sat 22 May: Cloudland the Musical (Caloundra)
Cloudland Ballroom was an integral part of the most defining decades of popular music in Australia from the 1940's to the early 80's. From before the birth of rock’n’roll to the post punk ‘new wave’ movement. See a unique tribute to the many legendary Australian and international performers who graced the Cloudland stage.

Sat 22 May: Phil Jamieson at Kings Beach Tavern (Caloundra)
Having spent over two decades entertaining crowds, both as a solo artist, and as the frontman of Grinspoon, this is an event not to be missed. 

Sat 22 May: Opening Event: Country In Mind — Connecting Stories (Sippy Downs)
Working primarily with the USC Art Collection, this exhibition focuses on work from the central desert, the Kimberley to the northwest, Arnhem Land and the offshore islands in the far north. Curated by Christopher Bassi.
