Anisa Nandaula


Anisa is a nationally recognised up and coming spoken word poet, performer and educator. Her poetry has appeared on ABC radio and has been performed in places such as the Sydney Opera house and New Globe Theatre. Anisa is the current Queensland Slam Poetry champion for 2016 and placed second in the Australian National Slam Poetry finals 2017. ​She facilitates poetry workshops in schools which aim to empower young people to confidently and articulately express themselves through art.

In addition to this Anisa co-founded Voices of Colour, a poetry organisation that elevates the voices of young people of colour and encourages them to engage with social justice issues. Her political poetry focuses on not only highlighting social justice issues but educating and engaging people to have difficult discussions about these issues.
