We recently announced that Horizon Festival will transition to an online program for 2020 to ensure the safety and wellbeing of artists, communities and staff during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The uncertainty created by the pandemic has made it impossible to proceed with the events we had planned for 28 August – 6 September, which were designed to bring people together for shared arts experiences in the beautiful places and spaces of the Sunshine Coast.

Horizon Festival will instead work with local artists and communities to deliver a reimagined, smaller program of online arts experiences and events. Commencing in June, we will present a rolling program that responds to the ever-changing times, leading the way to a new virtual Horizon.

Our thoughts are with all artists and arts workers, whose livelihoods have been impacted by the pandemic. We are committed to supporting our local arts industry during this difficult time and we look forward to sharing more news about our reimagined festival in the coming weeks.

Horizon Festival would like to acknowledge the traditional Country of the Kabi Kabi and the Jinibara Peoples of the coastal plains and hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.
